Andzej Gavriss

Andzej Gavriss is a director who sensitively observes the world around him and reflects it with bold, socially conscious film making. A world-builder in the truest sense; he tells stories with a keen eye for craft, ensuring that all elements of his film language elevate his message – be that via scale and gravitas, dark humor or ambitious choreography.

He has applied this conscientious approach to award-winning short films, commercials and music videos alike: tackling subjects like the long-lasting impact of PTSD on the refugee community or challenging anti-LGBTQIA+ laws in eastern Europe. In commercials, his portfolio includes e.g. real human stories for ALDI told through a striking cinematic lens and a darkly-humorous Christmas commercial for World of Tanks starring Vinnie Jones.
In music video he has worked with recognised artists and bands like James Arthur, KORN, and AIGEL.

Gavriss’ work has been widely recognised, with awards including the Grand Prize and Gold for Direction at Clio, three Cannes Lions, five D&AD pencils including Graphite for Direction, Gold at 1.4, a UK MVA, Gold Screen at YDA, and Director of the Year at Shots, and has screened at The Centre Pompidou, Panorama Berlin, and Brown University, to name only a few.
