Dermot Malone

Dermot is a filmmaker based in Dublin, represented internationally for directing. While he predominantly works in commercials, he also has exciting drama projects in development, following the release of his debut feature, KING FRANKIE (2024), which recently premiered in cinemas.

His strengths lie in classical storytelling and eliciting authentic performances. Although he aspires to build a long-term career in film and television, he also has a genuine love for great advertising. Dermot was honoured to be part of the judging panel for ‘Film Craft’ at the Kinsale Sharks in 2022, as well as The Immortal Awards in 2023 and 2024. He also judged craft at ICAD in 2024.

Looking ahead to 2025, Dermot is eager to pursue more international opportunities in commercial directing, while continuing to develop new and exciting projects as a follow-up to KING FRANKIE.

He is the proud founder of Banjoman, named Ireland’s ‘Production Company of the Year’ in both 2021 and 2022 at The Shark Awards, and the ‘#1 Irish Production Company’ at the 2024 Immortal Awards. He also founded BMan Entertainment, the film and TV sister company of Banjoman.
